I am as guilty as the next person when being influenced about healthy aging ideas. The internet is over-run with promises of feeling twenty years younger, looking twenty years younger and curing most illnesses. What is going to make you healthy again, look wonderful and be able to do 50 sit ups? Probably no one thing.
Thousands of dollars are spent on aging solutions. These solutions include supplements, specific foods, exercises, and even your thoughts. I do believe we can feel better every day with small steps. I was overwhelmed with the amount of books, while researching my book, about all the solutions to being fit and healthy. There are also many creams, lotions and facial fillers that will take years off of your appearance. If any of these healthy solutions really worked they would all be sold out in one day.
I have been involved in researching methods and ideas for many years to stay healthy for while aging and found there is no magic bullet. There are many ways to support healthy aging that do help you feel better and even look better. Every time I see a new magic way to stay healthy I research it thoroughly. Though many of these solutions to stay young and healthy are not harmful they rarely do much good. I do believe that people feel they are bullet proof from aging and disease. If you have checked lately at least one in every 4 or 5 people are in the obese range and also take prescriptions. Taking small steps by eating healthier, adding some exercise to your day and enjoying life are what it is all about. Remember habits come and go with great challenge. And a splurge once in a while is fine. Once again there is no magic bullet to feeling young and healthy.
Here are just a few ideas that could possible slow down some of the conditions that are associated with aging.
1. Keep moving. You don't have to run marathons or work out frantically in the gym. After you are sitting for a while or at the computer get up and move around. I often take cleaning breaks. I will get up and mop the floors, vacuum, do the bathrooms etc.
2. Keep healthy food selections in your house. The temptation is not in front of you.
3. Always have something in life you are looking forward to doing.

Healthy and Delicious Chicken Recipes
It is easy to create healthy food recipes when you have fresh and healthy ingredients in your fridge and pantry. I always have a good selection of healthy spices and herbs to add to my different dishes. Most of what I cook with comes from my refrigerator insuring that we eat fresh foods. I believe when you eat healthfully you are living better in all ways.
All of us do go out to eat from time to time. And as most of us are aware restaurant food is prepared to whet your appetite and order more dishes. Lots of salt, sugar and fat will do the trick.
Making wise choices for your three meals a day makes up 80 percent of your good health. Your mind, body and skin will thank you for taking time to choose nutritious foods. When hunger hits you can reach for healthy snacks like fruit, nuts, and even a big tablespoon of cottage cheese.
Here is one of my favorite and easy chicken recipes that includes many healthy ingredients. I make a big batch of this to last for two meals plus lunches or quick snacks. And to boot it is economical.
Easy Chicken Bake
Ingredients:
8 chicken thighs with skin and bone
one small jar of marinated artichoke hearts
2 cups of sliced mushrooms
1 cup of chopped sweet onions
1 cup of chopped fresh tomatoes
4 sliced garlic cloves (always slice to get maximum health benefits)
1 tablespoon each of thyme, oregano, basil, marjoram and tarragon
1 cup of dry white wine
1 medium can of black olives
Olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
One electric frying pan
Directions:
1. Brown chicken thighs on both sides and remove from the fying pan
2. Brown garlic and onions for about five inutes
3. Add mushrooms, tomatoes and artichoke
4. Blend in all of the spices except salt and pepper
5. Add the chicken back to the pan and add the wine and cook until done.
6. Remove the chicken from the pan and cover with sliced black olives.
7. Serve the chicken with brown rice and tossed green salad
*Add more spices if you wish as it adds to the flavor.
I make this dish often for us and it is also a lovely and colorful dish for company. I try to cook healthfully even when I have company. I always get rave reviews from this healthy food recipe.

Feel better everyday. Sounds easy enough doesn't it? Well, it is and it isn't. We live in a different world today filled with toxicity. Our food is questionable with gmo lurking in the background. We eat out a lot and that brings up an entire vocabulary of how food is prepared. We are busy and often don't have time to exercise except for a quick trip to the gym now and then.
Young people often feel bullet proof and eat, drink and live as they please. For the most part this is true. However, young people get old hopefully. And many times the past becomes the present when it comes to how you feel. I hope to share some simple ways to stay healthy and feel better every day.
